Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to your use of the RenoScouter website, its content and RenoScouter digital resources.

By using RenoScouter or purchasing or downloading a RenoScouter digital product, you agree to these Terms of Use.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website or purchase or download RenoScouter products.

About RenoScouter

RenoScouter is an Australian buyer side editorial property platform focused on houses with renovation potential.

The website includes curated property analyses, buyer resources, digital products, Journal articles, property submissions, advertising opportunities and links to third-party property listings and services.

General information only

RenoScouter provides general editorial and educational information.

It does not provide personalised professional advice or tell you whether to buy, sell, bid on, renovate or otherwise proceed with a property.

Please read the RenoScouter Disclaimer, which forms part of these Terms and contains important information about property analysis, due diligence, professional advice, planning, finance and renovation commentary.

Digital products and resources

RenoScouter offers digital resources that may include checklists, worksheets, scorecards, planners, guides and other downloadable materials.

Some resources may be free and others may be paid.

The relevant product page describes what the resource contains, its intended purpose and, where useful, its format or approximate length.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • RenoScouter products are supplied digitally;

  • no physical product will be shipped;

  • resources contain general buyer information;

  • resources are not personalised professional advice; and

  • you remain responsible for deciding whether a resource is appropriate for your circumstances.

Licence to use digital products

Unless otherwise stated, downloading or purchasing a RenoScouter resource gives you a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may print or complete copies for your own use.

You may not, without RenoScouter’s prior permission:

  • resell a RenoScouter resource;

  • distribute paid resources to others;

  • upload products to another website, marketplace or resource library;

  • reproduce substantial parts for publication;

  • remove RenoScouter branding and represent the resource as your own;

  • adapt RenoScouter resources into products for resale; or

  • use the resources as commercial training materials.

Digital products and refunds

RenoScouter digital products are supplied electronically and may be available for access or download immediately.

RenoScouter does not offer refunds for change of mind after a digital product has been accessed or downloaded.

This does not exclude, restrict or modify rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

If you believe a digital product is faulty, incomplete, inaccessible or materially different from its description, contact:

info@renoscouter.com

Please include your order details, the product involved and a description of the issue. RenoScouter may ask for a screenshot or other reasonable information that helps identify the problem.

RenoScouter may assess the issue before determining the appropriate response.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable consumer law, this may include technical assistance, a corrected file, replacement access, another appropriate remedy or a refund where required.

For more information about consumer rights and guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, visit the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

Product descriptions

RenoScouter aims to describe its digital resources accurately so you can understand what you are receiving before downloading or purchasing.

A resource is not automatically faulty merely because:

  • you change your mind;

  • you decide you no longer need it;

  • it does not address circumstances unique to your property;

  • you expected personalised advice where none was promised;

  • you find similar information elsewhere; or

  • you do not use the resource.

Nothing in this section limits consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Prices and payment

Where a RenoScouter resource has a price, the price shown at checkout applies to that transaction unless otherwise stated.

RenoScouter may change future prices, launch offers, promotions or free-access arrangements.

Changing a future price does not alter a completed transaction.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers made available through the website and may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies.

Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, RenoScouter owns or has permission to use its original:

  • written content;

  • digital products;

  • RenoScouter branding and logos;

  • original graphics and illustrations;

  • editorial frameworks and presentation; and

  • website materials.

You may view RenoScouter content and share links to it for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not systematically copy, reproduce, republish, distribute or commercially exploit RenoScouter content without permission, except where permitted by law.

Normal linking, search-engine indexing and lawful quotation or citation are not prohibited.

Third-party intellectual property

Property listing photographs, floorplans, agency materials, logos and other third-party content remain the property of their respective rights holders.

Their appearance on RenoScouter does not transfer ownership to RenoScouter.

Attribution does not itself transfer or create rights in third-party material.

If you own or represent material appearing on RenoScouter and wish to discuss its use, attribution, amendment or removal, contact:

info@renoscouter.com

Property submissions

Agents, homeowners, private sellers, buyer’s agents and other authorised representatives may submit properties for RenoScouter consideration.

Submitting a property does not guarantee:

  • publication;

  • inclusion in RenoScouter listings;

  • a particular RenoScouter Score;

  • a favourable editorial assessment;

  • homepage or featured placement; or

  • continued publication.

Information submitted should be accurate to the best of your knowledge.

If you directly provide photographs, descriptions, documents or other material for RenoScouter to use, you confirm that you own the material or otherwise have authority to provide it and permit its use for the relevant submission.

Providing a link to a third-party property listing does not mean you represent that you own copyright in the material published at that link.

RenoScouter may decline, edit, update, archive or remove property content where reasonably appropriate.

Advertising and commercial content

Businesses may contact RenoScouter about advertising, sponsorships and other commercial opportunities.

The presence of an enquiry form or advertising page does not guarantee that RenoScouter will accept a proposed advertiser or partnership.

Where RenoScouter enters into a paid commercial arrangement, additional written terms may apply.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise, RenoScouter does not guarantee any particular level of:

  • website traffic;

  • views;

  • clicks;

  • enquiries;

  • leads;

  • sales;

  • conversions; or

  • commercial results.

Payment for advertising does not entitle a business to a higher RenoScouter Score, a favourable Best for recommendation, a positive editorial assessment or influence over RenoScouter’s independent editorial conclusions.

Acceptable use

You must not use RenoScouter:

  • for unlawful or fraudulent purposes;

  • to submit knowingly false or misleading information;

  • to impersonate another person or business;

  • to interfere with the operation or security of the website;

  • to introduce malicious software or code;

  • to infringe the rights of RenoScouter or another party; or

  • to systematically extract and commercially republish RenoScouter content without permission.

External websites

RenoScouter links to property portals, selling agents, external sources, advertisers, businesses and professional services.

External websites are controlled by third parties and operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

RenoScouter is not responsible for transactions, advice, services, products or subsequent content provided by third parties.

Website availability

RenoScouter may update, change, remove or temporarily suspend website content or functionality where reasonably necessary.

RenoScouter does not guarantee that every part of the website will always be available or error-free.

Liability and consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right, remedy or liability that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.

To the extent permitted by law, RenoScouter is not responsible for loss arising from a user treating general RenoScouter editorial information as personalised professional advice, relying solely on outdated or subsequently changed third-party property information, or failing to undertake appropriate independent due diligence before making a property, financial or renovation decision.

RenoScouter’s detailed property-related limitations are contained in the Disclaimer.

Australian consumer law also protects consumers and small businesses against unfair terms in standard-form contracts, so these Terms should not be interpreted as removing rights that apply under law. Read more at ACCC.

Changes to these Terms

RenoScouter may update these Terms as the website, its resources or applicable requirements change.

The current version will be published on this page with its most recent update date.

Applicable law

These Terms are intended to operate consistently with applicable Australian law, including rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
